What is a cookie?

A cookie is a text file that is placed on your device’s browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) when you visit a website. This file is created by the server of the site visited, then is sent to your web browser. It is the latter which saves the cookie on your browser and your device.

There are 2 types of cookies on a website:

Session cookies: temporary files that are deleted when you leave the website or close your browser. If you then return to this same site from another browser or device, it may not recognize you. This is why we are asking you once again to accept cookies.

So-called persistent cookies: they remain dormant in your browser until you permanently delete them. Your browser may also do this automatically depending on the lifespan specified in the cookie file.
